International Opportunity for Athletic Trainers

My name is Alan Diamond, ATC and I have been appointed by Maccabi USA Sports for Israel as Chairman of the Athletic Trainer’s for the 18th World Maccabiah Games to be held July 2009. I am looking for any Certified Athletic Trainer who would be interested in gaining international experience at the 3rd largest sporting event in the world. Applications and resumes are currently being accepted. There are expected to be 9000 athletes, representing approximately 60 countries. Team USA is expected to have a delegation of 850-875 athletes and 75-100 coaches and staff.

Oklahoma Athletic Trainers’ Association Inducts McGonagle into Hall of Fame; Announces Scholarship Winners

May 11th, 2008-Stillwater, OK

The Oklahoma Athletic Trainers’ Association held it’s annual meeting of May 10th and 11th on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The awards luncheon honored Scott McGonagle with induction into the OATA Hall of Fame. Scholarships were also awarded to Leah Saplin of Owasso High School and Megan McKinley of Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

KU Athletic Training Hall of Fame Has a New Member!

Dr. Ken Wertzberger was inducted into the KU Athletic Training Hall of Fame May 3rd

Ken is a graduate of Lawrence High School and played football at KU including the 1969 Orange Bowl team before attending medical school at KU Med. He completed a 4 year residency at the Mayo Clinic. He served as the Orthopedic Physician for KU Athletics for over 25 years operating on nearly 500 athletes and acted as a resource to staff and athletic training students.
